Born in 1965, Roberto Cecchetto, eclectic and adventurous guitarist with a strong musical identity, begin his musical journey in 93’ joining Enrico Rava’s Electric Five, and traveled with them across Europe and the world up to 2001. At the same time he starts a series of collaborations which led him to join many bands and recordings, including Palle Danielsson, Anders Kjellberg, Gianluigi Trovesi, Richard Galliano, Paolo Fresu, Jean Louis Matinier, Michel Godard, Stefano Di Battista, Stefano Bollani, Stefano Battaglia, Fabrizio Bosso, Enrico Rava, Patrizio Fariselli, Gianluca Petrella, Herb Robertson, Tony Scott, Roswell Rudd, Roberto Gatto, Cameron Brown, Bruno Chevillon, Daniel Humair, Lee Konitz, Kenny Wheeler, Ben Allison, Maria Pia De Vito, Eivind Aarset, Lionel Loueke, Nasheet Waits, Becca Stevens, Jen Shyu just to name a few.
In 2007 he released “Downtown” his first album as a leader, followed by “Memories”, “Mantra”, “Soft Wind” and “Live at Cape Town” catching the critics attention as one of the most interesting and innovative musicians of the Italian and European Jazz scene.
In 2007 and 2010 he received the Top Jazz award, from the magazine Musica Jazz.
